DR is so out of touch it's wrong for him to give financial advice to anyone. First off, people who work from home work just as hard as those in the office. They are also more efficient because they don't have the distractions. Second, if you are salaried you are being paid to carry certain responsibilities. If you are meeting expectations how long it takes you doesn't matter. If you are sharp enough to meet the expectations of three roles then go for it. Loyalty to an employer is a very old fashioned concept that has no bearing on modern employer-employee relationships.

It’s not realistic to work multiple remote jobs for very long time. But we can sacrifice a year or two working multiple jobs and invest as much possible in stocks or mutual funds.. there you go, enjoy looking at your wealth grow!

I’m a civil construction superintendent up in Alaska…I usually make between $125-140k per year, or about $110-125k a year bring home (no taxes up here)…I am married with 3 kids and my wife is a stay-at-home mom so we are living on one income. It’s crazy how fast a $2350 paycheck every Friday disappears when supporting an entire family! By the way eating at restaurants is our guilty pleasure as well lol

i'm a truck driver and alot of trucking companies do this to us. we work 60, or 70 hours a week most of the time no paid overtime. but we are unfortunately paid by the mile and not by the hour. but when they do pay us by the hour its low pay for alot of hours and BS driving 9-10 hours a day maybe.

REMOTE work, when done honestly requires the worker to stay on top of projects and work even HARDER for your company. Why? Because I/we don't want to lose this way of working. I make 350k between my two remote Director level tech jobs. That is before bonuses which put me more in the 400k range. It is extremely stressful but I am hoping to only do this for 6 months to a year.

I run a startup and was paying a guy $60,000 a year. He refused to come into the office. Wanted to make him a partner, but he wanted equity in something that I was building over the course of a decade and had to train him from the ground up. He worked other jobs and I got smoked pretty hard by trying to be cool. I honestly gave him everything.

Okay so about the eating out thing: I'm from Germany and almost $800 PER MONTH for eating out is pure insanity to me and basically anyone else. I mean think about that: that is over $9000 per year just for eating out. That's batshit insane to me. I mean spending time out with your spose and also the kids is great and important as a family. But the amount times americans eat out is crazy high. There is this German RUclipsr called "LebenUSA" (which either means "LifeUSA" or "LivingUSA") who has been living in the US for like 15 or 20 years and has his own company I think. He lives in Cali and he makes all kinds of videos regarding differences between the US and Germany. He has some videos where he talks about things that americans spend money on that - in his opinion - are a waste of money and going out, ordering food etc. is one of the great expenses that americans really burn their money (on in his opinion at least). Especially because prices have risen so much and restaurants sneak in all kinds of hidden extra BS fees etc. it explodes the cost of a normal restaurant trip. Other things he claims (I can't verify it cause I don't live in the US) Americans "waste" money on are, supposedly, expensive kitchens (like kitchens costing $10K+, maybe 20K or 30K) which they allegedly often don't use cause they then prefer to go out or order food all the time instead. That probably depends a lot on your social circle tho. The "going out or ordering food" thing seems realistic tho. Basically all of the americans I encounter on Discord constantly talk about ordering food, how they spend too much on food etc. so this really seems to be a "problem" for many americans where they could save A LOT of money on. Overall very interesting to see tho. Grocery prices are kinda insane as well. $900 to $1000 a month just for groceries? If prices are that high it's no wonder that so many people live paycheck to paycheck. Greedflation from companies is real. Also how come the dude who caused the accident doesn't have to pay for the lifelong cost of the teeth?
